2022 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung – Art Installation by James Tapscott
— Overview
"Eclipse" is the first permanent installation from the Arc ZERO series in Kaohsiung.
Water and light are the two core elements of "Arc ZERO - Eclipse." Erected along the waterfront, the installation utilizes the water's reflection to create a complete, symmetrical, and circular ring of mist. At night, it glows like fire, appearing as if a perfect circle is suspended in mid-air, blurring the horizon of the space it inhabits. Characterized by balance and wholeness, this flawless circle represents our quest for coexistence and harmony—both between people, and between humanity and nature. It allows the surrounding landscape of Weiwuying to engage in a dialogue with the audience through art, creating an interactive viewing experience.
