綠空鐵道軸線開幕展

The Taichung Green Corridor Axis Opening Exhibition officially commenced with a lighting ceremony at the Old Taichung Station on December 11, 2020. Running for a duration of 10 days, the exhibition marked a significant milestone witnessing Taichung's "railway elevation" and "old town transformation." With "Coexistence with the Green Corridor" as its core theme, the exhibition successfully revitalized the historic railway ruins stretching from Taichung Road to Minsheng Road into Taiwan's very first elevated green corridor.

The exhibition site featured multiple guided landscape walking routes, leading the public to step onto the preserved century-old railway tracks, stone-paved embankments, and overpass railway bridges, allowing them to personally experience the urban texture conserved since the Japanese colonial period. Furthermore, multiple installation arts integrated into the local environment and interactive challenge games were set up across the exhibition areas, connecting the surrounding Luchuan Canal, the Taichung Station Railway Cultural Park, and old downtown commercial districts. This seamlessly transformed rigid urban engineering into a public space that balances historical education with leisure aesthetics. This opening exhibition not only announced the rebirth of the old railway but also unlocked a brand-new imagination of green, low-carbon living and a walkable city space for the citizens of Taichung.
